p. Terry

Pastor: The Rev. Terry Hamilton-Poore

Terry is a Presbyterian minister serving the Lutherans.  She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and Duke Divinity School.  Terry has served as Chaplain at Queens College in Charlotte, NC; as Interim Pastor to two congregations in the Kansas City area; as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Mason City, Iowa; and was recently appointed by the Sierra Pacific Synod to serve as our Transformational Pastor.

Terry loves to garden, cook, watch movies, and write poetry. She is married to the Rev. Dr. Sam Hamilton-Poore, who is the Director of Christian Spirituality at San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo.  They are parents to Ben (22), Eliza (20), and Noah (16).

Youth Leader: Charles Wei

Charles is a Southern California native and a graduate of California Lutheran University, where he majored in Business. In addition to years of church work, he also has owned a bakery, and loves to cook. Charles shares this love with our youth, who have a great time every week whipping up such interesting dishes as lumpia, curry, coconut shrimp, homemade pizza, and sushi. Charles is also a gifted preacher, and hopes to one day have a coffee shop ministry.

Piano: Jim Shelburnejim

Jim has many years' experience in church music, serving Methodist, Catholic, and Lutheran churches in Kentucky and California. In addition to his music ministry at CLC, Jim teaches piano and plays for weddings, funerals, private parties and community activities. Jim lives in Novato with his wife Jean Hicks, who is a hospital chaplain.

michaelPercussion: Michael Cobbina

Michael plays the djembe drum, other percussion instruments and guitar.  He currently serves as Staff Chaplain at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland.  Michael served as praise and worship leader for several congregations in London, UK (1994 – 2003).  Michael has produced, and performed on 2 CDs.  He was guest percussionist on the Big Wide Grin’s 2008 Christmas CD, and at SFTS Lessons and Carols (2006 & 2007).  He also was percussionist and vocalist in the group 2B1 in Charlotte, NC (2006/2007).  Michael is married to the Rev. Laurie Garrett-Cobbina, The Shaw Family Chair for Clinical Pastoral Education at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
